Hello!
I’m Xavier Maurice Gonda Cooper, a Liberian kid born in the USA.
At 13 years old, I’m the youngest DJ in Rwanda. I’m also the former brand ambassador of Zora-Bots Africa. In 2020, I was the 1st place winner of the AfriCAN Code Challenge for Rwanda’s Africa Code Week.
On March 4, 2023, I was a member of my primary school’s robotics team, which won 1st Place for Engineering Excellence & 1st Runner Up for the First LEGO League National Championship in Rwanda.
Since 2023, I’ve been an official tester for MIT Media Lab’s OctoStudio app. I’m proudly a Youth Advisory Board Member with the Scratch Foundation Youth Leadership Lab.
I love science, music, and art.
By the way, Gonda means “warrior” in Vai, a language spoken in Liberia and Sierra Leone.

SCIENCE
SCIENCE IS EVERYTHING
You may know this, but Science is the study of the building blocks of everything. Science is the study of knowledge about nature and the physical world. Knowing more about science lets us understand this earth and life itself better. This is what intrigues me.
MUSIC
MUSIC IS FEELING
The reason why I like music is that it controls your mood and feelings. Music connects to the brain and changes it in amazing ways. If you were to hear music that doesn’t fit the events of what you are seeing, you would feeluncomfortable. The opposite would make you feel a controlled emotion. Harnessing music is a beautiful thing.
ART
ART IS DIVERSE
Art is expressed in many ways. Any piece of creation can count as art. I love how vague what qualifies as art is, and how creative you can be with your terms of art.
